An app that connects athletes, events and venues across Cologne — with intelligent matching and a low barrier to entry.
The situation.
Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln wanted to extend the sports community beyond campus into the urban space. Events were scattered, information fragmented, contacts hard to find.
The brief: a platform that makes events visible, connects like-minded people and enables participation without long signup flows.
What we built.
We built the Athletentreff app: an iOS app with a Symfony backend, combining user management, event management and social features in one tool.
A matching algorithm recommends events and athletes; filters allow targeted search by sport, category and location. Participation, ticketing and meetups all run inside the app.
