Ship incrementally, learn early. What Agile is — and what is just Scrum theatre. We use it selectively.

What Agile really means.

Agile isn't a process but a mindset: deliver in short cycles, gather real feedback early, adapt the plan to reality rather than the other way round. The 2001 manifesto puts four values above dogma — working software over documentation, responding to change over following a plan.

The opposite isn't "waterfall" but Scrum theatre: daily standups that degenerate into status meetings, sprints with no shippable increment, velocity as an end in itself.

How we use it.

We work in an agile way where uncertainty is high and we have to learn fast — so on almost every product in its early phase. Concretely that means: small increments you can actually touch, regular reviews with the client, no specification gathering dust in a drawer for months.

Where it tips over.

Agile is no substitute for direction. Without a clear goal, an agile team quickly produces a lot of the wrong thing. And not every context benefits: if an undertaking has hard fixed deadlines, regulatory sign-offs or hardly any uncertainty, rigid iteration is more friction than lever.
