The project
Bringing together various pieces of the puzzle is a common requirement for projects and a natural part of digital change. In the case of the IoT platform, the main aim was to develop a web-based all-in-one solution for the customer that would elegantly combine existing individual areas and make them usable.

Newroom Media developed the IoT platform for Mercedes-Benz and now operates it as a central hub for digital processes worldwide. Today, more than 2,000 employees use the platform daily — driving greater efficiency, scalability, and digital control across the organization.

IoT - All Systems Under One Roof
Project management and IT often resemble a complex puzzle — the challenge lies in aligning all the pieces to create a coherent whole. Over time, systems tend to evolve independently, and eventually, they require a professional hand to bring everything back together under one roof.
Until 2018, this was also true for many of the digital elements at Mercedes-Benz AG. Different systems existed side by side, each accessible only via its own website or app. A unified, technically manageable structure was missing — and so was a central, all-in-one concept to combine key areas such as license management, support, monitoring, and dashboards.
In close collaboration with Mercedes-Benz AG, Newroom Media developed the IoT Platform — a web-based single point of truth designed to connect and manage all these digital components in one place. Over several project phases, the platform was continuously expanded, optimized, and enhanced to meet evolving requirements and global scalability.

Today, the IoT Platform has evolved into a comprehensive web platform — a single point of truth for all digital retail elements and an essential foundation for day-to-day collaboration within the company. It brings together a wide range of functions, including a Knowledge Hub, a technical system monitoring cockpit, a multi-level online store, a support area for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level support, interactive dashboards for data analysis, and a download center with all relevant handouts and files for employees.
The Digital Experience Platform (DEP) has since been rolled out in over 50 countries worldwide, integrating more than 10 digital elements, 12,000 registered systems, and over 2,000 active users. Its expansion continues — with new tools and digital components being added and integrated on an ongoing basis.
Thanks to the new web platform, our internal collaboration is now more efficient and productive. All digital elements are centralized and the user interface is intuitive. A real all-in-one solution that we no longer want to do without!
