With the Activ-o-mat, we have developed an online tool for Viactiv Krankenkasse that guides users to the right sport for them with just a few clicks. Personal, interactive and always with a view of real local offers.

Headquartered in Bochum, Viactiv is one of the leading statutory health insurance companies in Germany. In addition to traditional benefits, it offers innovative services such as prevention programs and telemedicine. The aim is to motivate members to adopt a healthy lifestyle in the long term.
Challenge / Problem
Unclear choice of sport
Many people don’t know which sport really suits their needs. Wrong decisions often lead to frustration or even health problems.
Taking individual needs into account
Not every sport is suitable for everyone. Back problems, joint problems or personal fitness level must be taken into account when making a recommendation.
Lack of orientation on site
Even if the type of sport is clear, the question remains: Where can I find suitable clubs, studios or courses in my area?
User-friendliness is a must
The tool should be easy to understand for everyone and usable on all end devices – without any technical hurdles.
Solution / Procedure
Intelligent recommendation logic
The Activ-o-mat asks for age, gender, fitness level and preferences (e.g. group vs. individual training). Complex formulas based on scientific data evaluate the answers and suggest three main types of sport plus alternatives.
Personalized content
There are videos, info texts and starter workouts for every sport. Users are picked up directly and motivated to really get started.
Interactive map & club database
Local sports offers appear clearly on a map. This allows users to immediately find clubs or studios in their area – without any detours.
Responsive web design
Whether smartphone, tablet or desktop – the application is fully responsive and offers a consistent user experience everywhere.
Backend for maximum flexibility
The specially developed backend enables Viactiv to maintain content, clubs, regions and questions itself – quickly, independently and flexibly.
